Have you heard the saying “if it’s not on the calendar- it’s not real”? In our busy lives it’s easy to put things off, even things we really want to do, if they aren’t on our calendars. We have to consciously make time in our schedules for the things we want to do, and that energize us; not just for the things we have to do!
So how do we “make time” in our lives for the want-to-dos? As counterintuitive as it may seem, when you take a little time out to re-energize yourself, you will be better able to accomplish all of those need-to-do things in your life! Some things, like making Christmas cards, can even do double-duty with others like getting together with friends. Set up a reoccurring monthly craft night with your friends. Perhaps on the first Wednesday evening or the third Sunday afternoon of the month. Once you pick a date, stick with it! Get together, chat, create, have fun! Once the holidays are past, don’t stop! Just change your focus to birthday cards, gift items, or your scrapbooking projects. You and your friends will be continually re-energized by taking time to do something creative and relaxing together!
